Expertise
Maria is an experienced corporate lawyer specializing in dispute resolution related to contractual relations, professional liability, real estate, as well as liability and delivery defects. She advises and litigates cases on behalf of some of Norway's largest logistics providers and possesses specialized expertise in multimodal transport.
Maria has extensive experience with international disputes and manages several cases abroad annually. She also serves as an advisor in contract negotiations and holds distinct expertise in choice of law and liability regimes related to multimodal transport, maritime law, road transport law, aviation law, and railway law.
Furthermore, she assists cargo owners, commercial enterprises, and real estate actors with contract reviews and dispute resolution, including matters related to Incoterms, contract interpretation, contractual understanding, and the execution of commercial agreements.
Maria also provides legal counsel and dispute resolution within real estate law. She assists clients in matters concerning commercial and residential leases, the purchase and sale of real estate, as well as defect and warranty claims. She advises on and litigates cases pursuant to the Norwegian Alienation Act (avhendingslova), the Housing Construction Act (bustadoppføringslova), the Craftsman Services Act (håndverkertjenesteloven), the Tenancy Act (husleieloven), and the Section Ownership Act (eierseksjonsloven), and regularly handles negotiations and litigation before the courts.
Additionally, Maria advises on insurance law and insurance regulatory issues related to transport, real estate, and commercial operations.
She also assists companies with regulatory matters, compliance, government relations, monitoring of legislative changes, drafting of agreements, board documentation, and internal guidelines within their business operations.
With a background from the judiciary, Maria is also qualified to undertake assignments within criminal law.
