Expertise
Maria is an experienced business lawyer with particular expertise in dispute resolution relating to contractual matters, professional liability, and delivery and defect claims. She represents and litigates cases for some of Norway’s largest logistics companies and has specialist expertise in multimodal transport.
Maria has extensive experience with international disputes and is involved in several cases abroad each year. She also advises clients in contract negotiations and has particular expertise in choice of law and liability regimes related to multimodal transport, maritime law, road carriage law, aviation law, and railway law.
She further assists cargo owners and commercial actors with contract reviews, including matters relating to Incoterms, contract interpretation, and disputes concerning contractual understanding.
Maria also advises on insurance law and insurance regulatory issues related to transport and commercial activities.
In addition, she assists businesses with regulatory matters, compliance, contact with public authorities, implementation of legislative changes, contract drafting, board documentation, and internal policies and procedures.
